(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Three juveniles might be facing charges for not one, but two break-ins in which they gained access by crawling through air ducts.
Aurora Police say they caught two of the teens after one of them crawled into duct work from the roof of the Aurora Big Lots store then fell through about 5:00 Tuesday morning. Employees were in the store to witness the insanity.
A third juvenile was not immediately caught, but police say they know who that teen is.
Lawrenceburg Police investigators now say they believe the same group of teens may be responsible for breaking into Central Elementary School – also by entering through air ducts - earlier Tuesday morning.
“Evidence I collected on scene was consistent to the same evidence which I collected at the Big Lots,” Lawrenceburg Detective David Schneider told Eagle 99.3.
Schneider, who had just finished helping Aurora Police investigate the Big Lots incident only to return to the Lawrenceburg Police Department and find out about the school break-in, said items were stolen from the school.
Both police departments may decide to jointly charge the three juveniles with both burglaries.
