(Aurora, Ind.) – A baby’s drowning death remains under investigation by Aurora Police.
The five-month-old died Monday afternoon after he was placed in a Bumbo seat in a backyard swimming pool outside a home at 503 Pleasant View Drive.
The child’s mother told investigators she turned away to retrieve a garden hose and when she turned back the baby was face down in the pool.
Aurora Chief of Police Bryan Fields commented Monday that the drowning appear to be a tragic accident.
So far, no charges have been filed against the baby’s mother, Erin O’Brien.
“After all the information and facts are gathered, Detective (Vernon) McBride will present the investigation to Prosecutor Aaron Negangard for review,” Fields told Eagle 99.3 Tuesday morning, adding he has no timeline on when the investigation findings will be handed over to the prosecutor’s office.
