A five-month-old boy hs died after drowning in his backyard Monday afternoon.
Aurora Police say They were dispatched to 128 Hoppy Hollow Road at about 3:27 p.m. in response to a child not breathing.
Aurora firefighters began performing CPR on the infant in the backyard of a home at 503 Pleasant View Road, Apartment 1. The boy was then rushed to Dearborn County Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation has revealed that the child's mother, Erin O'Brien, had placed the baby in a Bumbo seat in the small swimming pool. She told officers she turned away briefly. When she turned back to the child he was face down in the seat.
Aurora Chief of Police Brian Fields says the drowning remains under investigationat this time.

(Aurora, Ind.) – Aurora rescue crews are on the scene of a possible drowning Monday afternoon.
Crews responded to a home on Hoppy Hollow Road around 3:35 for a report of a child who was drowning.
The child was transported to Dearborn County Hospital where his or her condition is not known.
Aurora Police could release more information later today.
