Press release from Dearborn County Hospital
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Hospital Foundation recently awarded scholarships to 14 area high school seniors. Recipients of the Foundation’s High School Senior Scholarship Program each receive $500.
Recipients are selected annually from applicants who have been accepted into degree programs in healthcare fields at accredited colleges and universities. Additional students will be presented with grant/loans later in the summer as part of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation and Dearborn County Hospital Healthcare Student Grant/Loan Program.
Members of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation Board of Directors recognized the scholarship recipients at their respective high school awards programs. Both high school scholarship recipients and healthcare student grant/loan recipients will be honored at a banquet hosted by the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation at the Dearborn Country Club in July.
Students from the class of 2011 receiving Dearborn County Hospital Foundation High School Senior Scholarships are:
-Jordyn Armstrong of Moores Hill, a graduate of South Dearborn High School who is enrolled in the advanced medical imaging technology program at the University of Cincinnati;
-Erin Campbell of Rising Sun, a homeschooled student who is majoring in biomedical engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology;
-Jaime Finley of Rising Sun, a Rising Sun High School graduate who is majoring in pre-medicine at the University of Cincinnati;
-Ashley Gramman of Brookville, a graduate of Oldenburg Academy who plans to major in pharmacy at Purdue University;
-Rachel Griffin of Florence, a Switzerland County High School graduate who will be studying nursing at Ivy Tech Community College;
-Kayla Kohlman of Osgood, a Jac-Cen-Del High School graduate who will study pre-medicine at IUPUI;
-Rachel Mathes of Versailles, a South Ripley High School graduate who is enrolled in the occupational therapy program at Ball State University;
-Mariah Mosley of Dillsboro, a graduate of South Dearborn High School who will be majoring in pre-medicine at Indiana University;
-Ashley Pettyjohn of Aurora, a South Dearborn High School graduate who will study nursing at Good Samaritan College of Nursing and Health Science;
-Heather Quinlan of Brookville, a Franklin County High School graduate majoring in nursing at Anderson University;
-Anthony Romweber of Metamora, a Batesville High School graduate who will be a pre-medicine student at Indiana University;
-Emma Sprague of Lawrenceburg, an East Central High School graduate who has enrolled in the physician assistance program at Butler University;
-Elaina Voss of Milan, a Milan High School graduate who will study pre-medicine at Butler University;
-Rebecca Wagner of Osgood, a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School who will major in nursing at Marian University.
