A man investigators have

interest in the case of Bill
and Peggy Stephenson's
(Florence, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff’s investigators say a man who may have been one of the last people to speak with a double murder victim has been identified.
Bill and Peggy Stephenson, both 74, were found murdered inside their home on Ridge Edge Court in Florence May 29.
Earlier this week, detectives released a photo of a man Bill Stephenson was seen speaking with at the T.A. Truck Stop on Burlington Pike just two days before police found Stephenson and his wife murdered.
The man came forward after being notified by a relative that he was a person of interest. That relative saw local media reports.
Police have not given the man’s name, saying only that he is a truck driver who contacted the Merriweather County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office after learning police wanted to speak with him.
The man was cooperative with police during an interview with those Georgia authorities.
Investigators add that they have received new leads in the murder case this week. Anyone who thinks they might have information concerning the case to contact the Sheriff’s tip line at (859) 334-3500 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
