Willa Blanc and Louis Wilkinson
Boone County Sheriff's Office
(Hebron, Ky.) - A mother and son accused of kidnapping and murdering a Hebron man will go to trial in 2012.
Willa Blanc and Louis Wilkinson are accused of kidnapping reclusive 73-year-old Hebron millionaire Walter Sartory in February 2009.
Blanc, 48, allegedly forced Sartory to sign $200,000 of his assets into her name.
Sartory would die while being held in the basement of Blanc’s home in Union. His burned remains were found in a farm field south of Indianapolis the following March.
Wilkinson, 28, assisted his mother in holding Sartory and later disposing of his remains.
On Wednesday, a Boone County judge set the jury trial date for January 26, 2012, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The trial could last up to five weeks said prosecutors.
Blanc and Wilkinson are charged with murder, kidnapping, theft, abuse of a corpse and exploitation of an adult.
They each face the death penalty.
Sartory was a former nuclear scientist who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. He lived life alone in his Hebron home as he took his life savings and turned it into a $14 million portfolio through trading in the stock market.
