(Florence, Ky.) – Investigators are asking the public for help as they look to solve the murders of a Florence couple.
Bill and Peggy Stephenson, both 74, were found murdered in their Florence home on Ridge Edge Court May 29. They had last been heard from by family May 27.
Boone County Sheriff’s Office detectives now believe Bill Stephenson may have spoken with another person the same day.
As the complex investigation develops, detectives have obtained a photo of a man they are hoping to identify from the Travel Centers of America Truck Stop on Burlington Pike in Florence.
The man was seen speaking with Stephenson on May 27 at the truck stop.
Investigators say the man is considered a person of interest who could provide insight since he was one of the last people to speak with Bill before he died.
Anyone who can provide information is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Department tip line at (859) 334-3500 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
