(Aurora, Ind.) - The funeral will take place today in Aurora for John-John Burton.
The seven-year-old boy with autism went missing from his family’s Park Avenue home Sunday. His body was found by volunteer searchers in Hogan Creek near the Aurora City Park Monday morning.
Friends, his classmates, and first responders who helped with the search will attend his visitation from 10:00 a.m. to noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. The funeral service will immediately follow.
A fundraiser has been organized at the Dearborn Country Club this evening with proceeds going to the Burton family which includes John’s parents, John and Angela, and his three sisters.
The event will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with live music, karaoke, raffles, split the pot, and a chipping contest.
Donations can also be made to the Jon Burton Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank branch.
