One of the malnourished horses recently
taken into care by Spoiled Acres Rescue.
(Aurora, Ind.) – A local animal rescue organization is in need of help itself after taking on its second large animal neglect case in just 30 days.
Spoiled Acres Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit horse rescue group in Aurora. With the six horses they have taken in recently plus another 23 small animals, they are being stretched on being able to pay to feed the already malnourished animals.
The estimated cost to nurse the horses back to health is $1,200 a month, in addition to $1,500 more for the other animals.
Because of the money situation, Spoiled Acres says they have stopped taking animals from owners who no longer want them. They can only take new animals from police seizures.
The group has set up an online donation drive. Learn more at spoiledacresrescue.chipin.com.
Donations can also be mailed to Spoiled Acres Rescue, Inc., 15741 State Road 148, Aurora, Indiana 47001.
Spoiled Acres says it cannot release the details of the neglect cases at this time as they remain under investigation by law enforcement.
