Security video showed this truck circle the block around the same time Lauren Spierer was last seen the morning of June 3 in Bloomington. Bloomington Police |
(Bloomington, Ind.) – Bloomington Police hope photos of a white pickup truck will generate leads in the disappearance of Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.
Capt. Joe Qualters said Wednesday the truck could be connected to some construction projects in the area.
The truck is described as a white 2000’s Chevrolet Silverado full-size truck or a Chevy Colorado mid-size truck. It appears to have had some equipment in the bed and has writing or logos on the doors and back panels.
Qualters said the truck circled the block where Lauren was last seen around the time she disappeared in the early morning hours of June 3.
“Is there a possibility this vehicle could be involved? Absolutely. We have to consider that possibility. Why? Because is circles the block during the time frame and the location where Lauren was last seen,” Qualters said, noting that the camera’s clock could have been inaccurate.
The FBI worked to enhance the photos from surveillance video taken from nearby businesses.

Qualters also released a photo of Lauren Spierer taken by security cameras at her apartment complex as she headed out for the evening on June 2, showing her in the white blouse and black leggings she was wearing when she disappeared.
“We’re still committed to finding her. We have hope that we’ll find her soon,” said Rober Spierer, Lauren’s father.
“To the person or persons that have Lauren, we miss her terribly. She is very dear to us and we love her very much,” he said in a direct plea to anybody involved in Lauren’s disappearance.
