John Burton, Jr.
(Aurora, Ind.) – Friends, family, and even those who didn’t know John-John Burton before he was reported missing will have the chance to tell him goodbye Friday.
The seven-year-old child was reported missing from his family’s home on Park Avenue in Aurora Sunday. Hundreds of police, firefighters, and volunteers gathered to search for him, hoping he would be hiding in a shed or some woods, but his body would be found in Hogan Creek near the city park Monday morning.
Burton’s visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 a.m. to noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. The funeral mass will begin at noon.
Burton was a student at Aurora Elementary School. Although he was autistic, John enjoyed a number of activities like other kids his age – swimming, movies, and NASCAR. He loved his sisters and pets.
John-John is survived by his parents, John and Angela, as well as his three sisters.
Donations can be made to the John Burton Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank branch or through Rullman Hunger Funeral Home.
