(Milan, Ind.) - A congressional candidate is planning to kick off his campaign in Ripley County later this month.
Travis Hankins ran as a Republican in the Ninth District in 2010, but lost to fellow GOP member Todd Young in the primary. It was his first political race.
Hankins, 29, announced in May he will try again for Congress in the new Sixth District.
He will have a kickoff dinner at the Milan VFW Hall, 107 North Warpath Drive, on June 25. Tickets are for sale for $25 each and reservations should be made soon.
According to an e-mail about the dinner, Hankins will be there to talk about his campaign focus and the importance of self-government.
