(Aurora, Ind.) - Dozens of police officers, firefighters, and citizens are searching for a young autistic child is missing in Aurora Sunday.
Aurora Chief of Police Brian Fields says seven-year-old John David Burton, Jr. was reported missing from his home on the 400 block of Park Avenue at around 11:45 a.m. He and his family had just moved into the home this weekend.
Police and the family are extra concerned about Burton because he is a non-verbal autistic child, so he may not speak to people he comes in contact with.

Fields asks that residents in the area take a minute to search their property, because the boy may be hiding.
A signifiant serach party is scouring Aurora including police and firefighters from the city and Aurora. Bloodhounds from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and a helicopter with the Butler County Sheriff's Officer are also helping.
Anyone who may see the boy or know his whereabouts should contact the Aurora Police Department at (812) 926-1101.
