Honda Civics manufactured at the
automaker's plant in Greensburg.
(Greensburg, Ind.) - The Honda plant in Greensburg will be looking for about one-thousand new employees soon.
The automaker announced Tuesday it will double production in Greensburg to 200,000
Honda initially promised 2,000 jobs when it decided to build the plant in Indiana, but those plans were put on hold as the economy went south as the facility off Interstate 74 opened in 2008.
During the first wave of hiring then, more than 30,000 applications were received by Honda. Just as many, if not more, could flow in this time.
Applications can only be made online at indiana.honda.com or through any Indiana Work One office.
Only people living in 20 Indiana counties surrounding the plant are eligible. Those counties include Bartholomew, Brown, Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Henry, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Rush, Switzerland, Union and Wayne.
The popular Civic models are manufactured in Greensburg as well as the Civic GX natural gas powered vehicle.
