(Versailles, Ind.) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is reminding boaters to get a permit before hitting the water this spring and summer.
The DNR says a lake permit is required before launching a boat in a state-managed body of water such as Brookville Reservoir or Versailles State Park Lake. Conservation officers will be watching the lakes for compliance.
The 2011 permit is $20 for motorized boats and $5 for non-motorized watercraft. They are good the entire calendar year.
The permits can be bought at state park offices, by calling (317) 232-4200, or online at www.in.gov/dnr.
