(East Enterprise, Ind.) – A home was badly damaged by fire Wednesday night in Switzerland County.

Firefighters with the East Enterprise Fire Department were called to the home on Log Lick Road near McCreary’s Ridge Road around 8:30 p.m. after a passer-by had called 911 to report flames and smoke.

The home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. East Enterprise Fire Chief Jeff Darling told Eagle 99.3 his crew had some difficulty getting to the scene because part of the road was flooded by high water.

The homeowner was out of town at the time and nobody was inside. There were no injuries.

Darling said the home is a complete loss. A cause remains under investigation.
