(Versailles, Ind.) – More than four tons of unused and unwanted prescription pills were taken in across Indiana last Saturday.
The “Drug Take Back” day was organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration with local sheriff’s offices, police departments, and the Indiana State Police participating.
A total of 8,096 pounds were collected statewide. Almost 1,500 pounds were collected at Indiana State Police posts.
The state police’s Versailles Post collected 21 pounds of drugs which citizens dropped off April 30.
