(Aurora, Ind.) - Gas prices in the tri-state shot past $4 a gallon Friday, setting a new record high locally.
Tracking website CincyGasPrices.com says the Cincinnati area’s average price per gallon of regular unleaded jumped to $4.14. The previous high was $4.08 set in July of 2008.
Today’s figure is well above the national average price of $3.90.
Gas stations in Lawrenceburg, Harrison, and Cleves are at $4.15 today. You might find fuel a little more affordable in Florence and Hebron where some stations are posting $3.99, for now.
One year ago today, tri-staters were paying an average of $2.85 a gallon.
