(Rising Sun, Ind.) - A Rising Sun teenager will face a charge of Reckless Homicide for a deadly crash.
Jason Bond, 18, had admitted to police he was huffing fumes from an aerosol can shortly before his Ford Fusion crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Cavalier on State Road 56 near Thuermer Hollow Road last October 26.
Mary Anne Habel, 68, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, - the driver of the Cavalier - was killed in the accident. Her passenger, Bonita Broderick, 60, suffered serious injuries.
The driver of a third vehicle, Kristina Keeton, 22, received minor injuries.
Bond and his juvenile passenger told crash investigators that the they had been inhaling the fumes from a can of spray duster in the hours leading up to the crash that afternoon.
Bond was arrested Thursday on charges of Reckless Homicide, Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, and Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury. He is now being held at the Switzerland County Jail.
A bond will be assigned once Bond makes his initial appearance in Ohio Circuit Court.
Bond faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
