(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Ohio River has crested and is on its way down, but problems caused by heavy rain are still arising.
The National Weather Service says the river at Cincinnati peaked at 55.3 feet at midnight, however, it is expected to remain over flood stage until Saturday morning.
Downriver at the Markland Dam, the Ohio is at about 53 feet and will crest at near 55 feet sometime Wednesday.
Nearly 12 inches of rainfall in the tri-state this month has caused a number of roads to be closed.
The Ripley County Highway Department said Tuesday morning State Road 62 near the Dearborn-Ripley County line is closed because a slide has sunk the road. It will remain closed indefinitely.
Not far from there, State Road 62 was blocked early Tuesday morning by a large tree which had fallen across the road just north of Friendship. The road was closed for over an hour.

Stateline Road near the entrance to Hidden Valley is also suffering from a slip. The Dearborn County Highway Department has kept that road open.
Dearborn County Engineer Todd Listerman told Eagle 99.3 the slips may not be correctable until the county can receive hot mix asphalt to patch the troubled areas.
Water was at the front doorstep of the Eagles Lodge in Aurora where Judiciary and Importing Streets are underwater and have been off limits to traffic for almost a week.
Cole Lane, Nelson Road, and East Laughery Road remain submerged by a swollen Laughery Creek.
