(Warsaw, Ky.) – An Easter church function in Gallatin County turned less than joyous when a two-year-old was struck by a car Saturday night.
Kentucky State Police say Brandon Perez, 2, ran into the roadway of U.S. 42 and was hit by a car around 10:07 p.m.
Perez was taken by ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he is in intensive care.
Police say the driver, 50-year-old Barbara Lewis, of Warsaw, will not face any criminal charges.
The conditions when the accident happened were dark and rainy and Perez was wearing dark-colored clothing.
