(Aurora, Ind.) – Allegedly hitting a woman, pointing a gun towards her and firing it has landed an Aurora man behind bars.
Aurora Police were called to an apartment at 114 Main Street on Friday, April 15.
The female victim told police that Clinton Lewis, 47, had been drinking moonshine and became violent.
The woman attempted to run away after she had been battered. Lewis fired a handgun in the apartment as the woman made it to the front door and screamed for help. She was not hit by the bullet.
Police found Lewis in the laundry room of the apartment building in his underwear. He was taken into custody.
The victim was taken to Dearborn County Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Lewis is held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on charges of Intimidation (Class C Felony), Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon (Class C Felony), Pointing a Firearm (Class D Felony), Battery on a Physically Disabled Person (Class D Felony), and Domestic Battery (Class A Misdemeanor). His bond has been set at $100,000 surety and $2,500 cash.
