downtown Lawrenceburg Tuesday morning.
Mike Perleberg-Eagle 99.3
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Persistent downpours through Tuesday morning are beginning to cause problems on tri-state roadways.
The National Weather Service estimates at 11:00 a.m. that between two to four inches of rain has fallen. THe heaviest amounts locally have been concentrated on Ohio County, northern Switzerland County, and southern Ripley County.
The Indiana Department of Transportation at Aurora says a number of highways have had to close due to high water. Those roads include:
-US 50 eastbound at the on-ramp to Interstate 275
-SR 56 from Aurora to Rising Sun
-SR 56 at Lesko Park in Aurora
-US 50 around SR 48

INDOT says they’ve had to close so many stretches of road closed due to high water that they have run out of signs to mark the closures.

Other roads reported with high water include:
-East Laughery Creek Road at House Road
-Antioch Road at North Landing
-Conwell Street in Aurora
