(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The threat of minor flooding has resulted in the National Weather Service issuing a Flood Advisory for local areas along the Ohio River
The advisory will be in effect for the Ohio River at Cincinnati through Friday morning. The river had reached 49.8 feet by 5:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, about two feet shy of flood stage.
The river is expected to rise to 50.9 feet after midnight tonight then begin falling.
The Dearborn County Transportation and Engineering Department had closed Cole Lane and East Laughery Road Tuesday due to high water from Laughery Creek between Dearborn and Ohio counties. Those roads had reopened by Wednesday morning according to motorists.
Extended periods of rain Monday and Tuesday brought about two inches of rain to the tri-state area according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect more rain this weekend. A storm system could bring one to two inches of rain causing more flooding.
