(Holton, Ind.) - Two Ripley County residents are behind bars after a drug bust by sheriff’s deputies and Holton Police.
Deputies made a traffic stop of Joshua A. McCoy, 28, of Holton, on Monday, March 28. The stop led to the seizure of heroin along with drug paraphernalia. McCoy was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Paraphernalia.
The case was forwarded to Ripley County Prosecutor Ric Hertel. That led to charges being filed against another local person.
An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday, April 7 for Tara M. Bowman, 30, of Versailles. Bowman was taken into custody on Sunday and is now held at the Ripley County Jail on a $1,050 bond.
Bowman is charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Class D Felony), Possession or Control of a Hypodermic Needle When Used to Violate the Legend Drug Act (Class D Felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).
