Press release from Dearborn County CASA
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg and Dearborn County Citizens Against Substance Abuse (CASA) received Special Recognitions by the Governor's Commission for a Drug Free Indiana.
They were presented on March 23 at a meeting in Indianapolis.
The honors were given to acknowledge the unique partnership the two entities have developed- especially the fact that Lawrenceburg will provide operating funds for CASA when their Drug Free Community Grant ends this September.
The Commission stated that the City of Lawrenceburg and CASA have "taken an aggressive, pro-active step toward keeping citizens and visitors safe. This partnership is a model for other communities to follow".
CASA is the local coordinating council for Dearborn County and this move by the City of Lawrenceburg is the first of its kind in the state of Indiana.
