(Batesville, Ind.) - A Batesville man is being charged with four counts of Child Molestation.
The Osgood Journal reports John R. Tunny, 47, had disclosed to employees at Margaret Mary Community Hospital that he was depressed because he had been molesting a child. That led to police being contacted.
Tunny’s confession was detailed in a probable cause affidavit filed in Ripley Circuit Court in which he stated he had had contact with the victim two or three times each month over the past three years.
Tunny has been held at the Ripley County Jail since March 16 on a $100,000 surety bond and $10,000 cash bond. His next court appearance is Thursday.
Child Molestation, a Class A felony, carries a maximum sentence of 20 years for each count.
