(Versailles, Ind.) – Indiana State Police say it appears driver inattention was a likely factor in a crash that killed two girls last week.
Troopers say the crash on U.S. 421 Thursday killed seven-year-old Kacy Brown and her six-year-old sister Grace.
Investigators say it appears driver inattention was likely a factor in the crash. They also say it doesn’t appear the semi was being operated at an excessive speed just prior to the crash.
Master Trooper Ben Bastin expects to turn the case over to the Ripley County Prosecutor’s office sometime later this week for review for any possible charges.

Meanwhile, the girl’s parents – Kris Brown and Ai Odashima Brown - are still in critical condition at University Hospital in Cincinnati. The couple does appear to be showing slight improvement family members told police.
