(Brookville, Ind.) - An Ohio food processing company may be looking to relocate to southeast Indiana.
According to the Franklin County Observer, Franklin County Commissioners were told this week about the possibility of the Cincinnati-based company locating operations at the former J&J Packaging building on Golden Road off of State Road 101.
About 120 new jobs would pay an average of $27,000 a year said county Economic Development Director Frank Thompson.
With both Indiana and Ohio competing to lure the company, incentives could be key.
Thompson said the project needs $3.2 million worth of infrastructure improvements first. The Indiana Officer of Community and Rural Affairs has offered $230,000. The county plans to request $1 million each of the next two years from Lawrenceburg.
