(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – It is now against county ordinance to sell synthetic marijuana in Dearborn County.
Dearborn County Commissioners passed a ban on the sale of products containing synthetic cannabinoids February 15. With packages marked “Spice” or “K2,” the product is marketed as incense, but gives users a marijuana-like high when smoked.
Following a one month publication period, the ordinance went into effect March 15. Now, anybody or any business caught selling the product could face a fine.
Several other surrounding municipalities had passed similar ordinances in recent months, including Rising Sun, Versailles, Sunman, and Batesville.
