(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - February was a better month for three local riverboat casinos as each enjoyed an increase in both revenue and attendance.
Hollywood in Lawrenceburg raked in $36.48 million in revenue, up 2.6 percent from February of last year according to monthly data released by the Indiana Gaming Commission Tuesday.
The region’s most popular riverboat also welcomed 1.3 percent more visitors at 317,774. Only Horseshoe HD Casino in northwest Indiana had more visitors.
Belterra Casino Resort and Spa in Switzerland County saw revenues rise 2.9 percent to $11.28 million. The casino had a 1.5 percent increase in attendance to 134,719.
Grand Victoria Casino and Resort remained at the back of the southeast Indiana pack in revenue and attendance, although the Rising Sun riverboat enjoyed significant increases in both categories. Revenues were up 13.1 percent with $8.14 million last month while attendance increased by 16.4 percent to 105,486.
Statewide, Indiana’s casinos combined for revenue of $227 million in February, down about 2.3 percent from a year ago. Attendance at the 13 casinos shrunk 6.4 percent to 2.01 million.
