(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man is accused of storing more than 20 pounds of marijuana in his apartment.
Roy Robert Bessler, 63, is charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver More than 10 Pounds, a Class C felony.
According to a court affidavit, Bessler was busted after Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit detectives obtained a warrant to search his apartment at 204 Park Place the evening of February 24.
Detectives found about 20 pounds of pot stuffed into two duffle bags. The plant was wrapped in clear plastic bags, each weighing about one pound.
Bessler told police he had planned on transporting the pot to New Orleans the following day.
Bessler remains held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center Wednesday on $1,000,000 surety and cash bond. His next appearance in Dearborn Circuit Court is scheduled for April 14.
