(Ripley County, Ind.) – A Versailles man is in the Ripley County Jail after Indiana State Police searched his car and found heroin.
A trooper stopped a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer on U.S. 50 near Gaslight Drive in Versailles Tuesday evening around 9:00.
During the stop, the trooper became suspicious of the driver, Casey R. Buchanan, of Versailles, and developed probable cause to search the SUV.
Syringes, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of heroin we found inside.
Buchanan, 22, was taken into custody without incident and now stands charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Heroin) and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, both Class D Felonies, Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended with Prior Conviction, both Class A Misdemeanors.
