(Indianapolis, Ind.) - The Indiana Senate has approved a bill which would study the state's policies on marijuana.
That will include looking at the financial benefits to the state of legalizing the drug and will also study how much money is actually spent to fight pot.
Senator Karen Tallian (D-Portage) sponsored the bill and said it would go along with other work to reform drug sentencing laws.
Fifteen states and Washington, D.C. have legalized marijuana for medical purposes.
The bill will next be considered by the Indiana House.
