(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Local gas prices are now the highest they’ve been in two-and-a-half years.

Hopefully you were able to top off your gas tank before prices shot up almost 20 cents Tuesday. Many stations in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky soared well above the $3.00 a gallon mark.

Tracking website CincyGasPrices.com says the area’s average price today is $3.26 for a gallon of regular unleaded. It has not been that high since October 2008.

Stations in Aurora, Lawrenceburg, Harrison, and Cleves are at $3.29 as of Wednesday morning. In Florence, you might find it at $3.27.

Prices above $3.00 a gallon are rare in February. This time last year the tri-state was averaging $2.65.
