(Franklin County, Ind.) - Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department will attend the visitation of a four-year-old boy Monday.
The son of deputy Greg Mehlbauer, Aiden, died last Wednesday after playing with a handgun which then fired in basement of the family’s Metamora home according to Indiana State Police.
Aiden Mehlbauer’s visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.
His funeral is set for 10:00 Tuesday morning at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.
According to his obituary, Aiden was all boy. He was active, inquisitive, cuddly and mischievous all rolled into one. He had a sweet, natural smile, but his parents said “whenever he came up and out of nowhere said I love you, it was time to look around and found out what he’d done.”
Aiden is survived by his parents Greg and Shavonne; sister Rhian; twin brother Mason; maternal grandparents Candy and Rick Zins of Sunman; and paternal grandparents Kenneth Mehlbauer of Morris, Mary Sue and Rick Koch of Batesville.
The family is asking that memorials be made to Children’s Hospital or Batesville EMS 10.
