(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – We’ll have a better idea later today of what Election Day ballots will look like.
Noon Friday is the deadline for candidates for city offices around Indiana to file their candidacy papers with their local county clerk. The primary election in Indiana will be held May 3.
Candidates seeking office in town elections do not have to file until noon on Monday, August 1. Races which include more than one candidate in the same political party will have a town convention by August 20 to decide which name appears on the November ballot.
According to Dearborn County Clerk Phil Weaver, “At this time town officials do not run in a Primary, except Dillsboro because they passed a resolution to change their time to elect officials (General Election years and utilizing the Primary Election).”
