(Versailles, Ind.) - Five people are now in trouble with the law after being arrested in connection with a string of vandalisms and arsons in Ripley, Franklin, and Decatur counties.
Several farms throughout the three counties were damaged during the alleged crime spree last year. Estimates said the damage bill totaled hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Indiana State Police say two of the suspects are juveniles, one from Ripley County and the other from Franklin County. Police have not given the suspects’ names because of their age.
Police arrested Eric M. Carpenter, 20, of Versailles, on a warrant out of Ripley County for one count of Receiving Stolen Property on Saturday.
Two other men had been arrested in Franklin County last month in connection with one of the vandalisms.
Kenneth R. Partlow II, 19, of Sunman was behind bars when served with a warrant out of Ripley County informing him of the new charges. Partlow is now facing an additional 17 felony and eight misdemeanor counts including arson, burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.
Travis W. Christenberry, 22, of Batesville was also handed a Ripley County warrant of five felonies and one misdemeanor of similar charges. He was free on bond in Franklin County prior to his arrest Saturday.
The Ripley County juvenile is currently held at the Dearborn County Juvenile Detention Center. The Franklin County juvenile remains free pending a court hearing.
