(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg man will do nearly three decades behind bars after a judge sentences him for a drug dealing conviction.
Dearborn Circuit Court Judge James D. Humphrey sentenced Charles Evans to the maximum 28 years in prison Thursday. Evans had previously pleaded to charges of Dealing Marijuana and Dealing Heroine in exchange for other charges being dismissed.
Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit detectives used an undercover officer to catch Evans, 44, selling drugs out of his home near George Street Park in Lawrenceburg.
According to Eagle 99.3 News archives, Evans had several previous run-ins with the law before his arrest in Dearborn County last June. Those included arrests for drug possession, theft, probation violation. He was charged with Rape in Middletown, Ohio in 2008 but was not convicted.
