Plungers sprint to warm up after diving into freezing water at last year's Polar Plunge at Versailles State Park. file photo |
(Versailles, Ind.) - Dozens of folks pretending to be polar bears will take the plunge Saturday at Versailles State Park.
The Fourth Annual Polar Plunge will raise money for Special Olympics of Indiana. The splash down begins at 1:00 p.m. at the state park boat ramp.
Last year’s plunge raised more than $29,000 for special Olympians. Organizers are hoping to surpass that figure this year thanks to money raised participants, each of whom must raise at least $75 in pledges.
The event is free to spectators. A post-splash bash will be held at South Ripley Elementary School following the final plunge.
If you would like to donate to Special Olympics of Indiana, find out how on our Community Bulletin Board page.
Eagle 99.3 will be there to witness the chilling action and support the plungers. Ask for a free t-shirt or bumper sticker!
