(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Aurora Mayor Donnie Hastings Junior will run for re-election this year.

Hastings filed his election papers with the Dearborn County Clerk’s Office this week. He’ll face a challenge in the Republican primary election in May from Aaron Ellis.

Councilman Rick Orcutt, Jr. is still unopposed as a Democrat for Aurora Mayor.

In Lawrenceburg, there are now three Democrats running for the mayor’s office. Councilman J.R. Holdcraft has newly filed. He faces Dennis Carr and Tim Denning in the Democrat primary.

Lawrenceburg Community Schools board member Kelly Mollaun is unopposed as a Republican for mayor.

City candidates can still file up until February 18.

People seeking office in Indiana towns can wait longer. They don’t have to file their candidacy until August 1.
