Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - January was a slow month compared to the usual for southeast Indiana’s riverboat casinos.
New monthly data from the Indiana Gaming Commission shows Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in Switzerland County, and Grand Victoria Casino & Resort in Rising Sun combined for $51.9 million in revenue last month. The figure is down about five percent from January 2010.
Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg accounted for most of the region’s gaming revenue with over $34 million.
Grand Victoria had just over $7 million in revenue, its second-lowest month ever since opening the riverboat was the first in the region to open in 1996. The total represented a decline od 11.1 percent from January 2010.
Belterra garnered revenue of $10 million, off only 0.4 percent from last year.
Southeast Indiana riverboats welcomed over 512,000 visitors last month.
Statewide, Indiana’s 13 casinos brought in $215.7 million in revenue during January, down 2.8 percent from the same month a year ago. Attendance was just under two million.
