(Lawrencburg, Ind.) - Nearly 1,000 homes are still without power throughout southeast Indiana Thursday morning.

Southeast Indiana REMC said its crews worked 18 hours restoring outages on Wednesday. Those workers were called in for a break at 8:00 p.m. and were back out by 7:00 Thursday morning.

REMC reports 490 outages as of 7:30 a.m. They are concentrated in northern Ripley County and Franklin County. Areas with the most outages include St. Peter, Oldenburg, Yorkville, and Sunman.

“We’re hopeful to have everyone back today,” said Barry Lauber, spokesperson for REMC.
