(Sunman, Ind.) - A 21-year-old Aurora woman died over the weekend from injuries she suffered in a crash.
Mackenzie Stuart was driving her Mini Cooper on State Road 48 east of Sunman Friday afternoon when she hit a patch of ice, went left of center, and was hit broadside by an oncoming pickup truck according to Indiana State Police.
Stuart suffered severe head and internal injuries. She was aircared to University Hospital in Cincinnati.
The pickup truck driver, Charles Svara, 46, of Greenwood, Ind. suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Stuart died at the hospital Saturday. Funeral arrangements are being made by her family Monday according to Rullman Hunger Funeral Home in Aurora.
Stuart was a 2007 South Dearborn High School graduate. She was one of the brightest students in all of Dearborn County, earning a prestigious Lilly Endowment Scholarship to pay full-ride tuition to Butler University.
Indiana State Police are still investigating the crash.
