From the Indiana State Police...
This afternoon troopers responded to a two vehicle crash on S.R. 48 near Norkus Road in Dearborn County that left one person in critical condition. According to Trooper Chris Richey at approximately 2:40 p.m. a 2007 Mini Cooper driven by 21 year old McKenzie Stuart of Aurora was eastbound on S.R. 48 when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow and ice-covered roadway. Her vehicle traveled left of center and was struck broadside on the passenger side by a 2000 Nissan X-Terra driven by 46 year old Charles Svara of Greenwood, IN. Stuart had to be extricated from her vehicle and was flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital with severe head and internal injuries. Svara was transported to Dearborn County Hospital by Sunman Rescue 20 with non life-threatening injuries.
Trooper Richey was assisted at the scene by other troopers, Dearborn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Manchester and Sunman Fire Departments, and Sunman Rescue 20. The crash remains under investigation.

According to an eyewitness of the accident scene, the wreck involved a red Mini Cooper and a small pickup truck.
Indiana State Police troopers and Dearborn County Sheriff's deputies both responded to the scene.

(Sunman, Ind.) - At least one person is seriously hurt after a crash on State Road 48 in Sunman.
The crash happened at about 2:40 Friday afternoon near the intersection with Norkus Road.
Aircare has been called to take one person who was reported to be unconscious to the hospital.
It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
