(North Vernon, Ind.) – A three week-long investigation culminated with a foot pursuit and arrest of a wanted man in Jennings County Thursday.
Indiana State Police, U.S. Marshalls, and North Vernon Police found the fugitive – 31-year-old Paul W. Barnes, Of Dupont, Ind. – in the 200 block of East Walnut Street in North Vernon.
When officers apprehended Barnes, a known associate took off on foot. After a short pursuit, Michael L. Franklin, 31, of Greensburg was arrested.
Both men are not held at the Jennings County Jail.
Barnes was wanted on warrants for Auto Theft (Class D Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (Class D Felony), Intimidation (Class D Felony) Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), Driving While Suspended Prior (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Mischief (Class A Misdemeanor).
Franklin was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement/Fleeing (Class A Misdemeanor).
