(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Current Indiana law bans teenage drivers from texting while behind the wheel, but adults can legally do it all they want.

That, however, may soon be coming to an end.

The House Roads and Transportation Committee approved House Bill 1129 on a 10-2 vote Wednesday. Freshman House District 68 Rep. Jud McMillin (R-Brookville) was one of the “nay” votes.

The full House is expected to take the measure up soon.
