(Ripley County, Ind.) - Indiana State Police are looking for somebody who tried to steal a tractor from the Indiana National Guard.
Last Friday, Jan. 14 troopers were called to Jefferson Proving Ground in Ripley County when members of the guard and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services found a Bobcat tractor stuck in a fence that had been cut.
Master Tpr. Ben Bastin believes the theft attempt occurred during the late night Thursday or Friday. It appears at least two individuals were involved.
Anybody who saw suspicious activity on U.S. 421 at Michigan Road those nights is asked to call the state police.
Anyone who may have observed a truck and a trailer or other suspicious activity in the area of U.S. 421 and Michigan Road during those hours is requested to contact the Indiana State Police Post at Versailles at (812) 689-5000 or (800) 566-6704. Callers can remain anonymous.
