(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Funeral arrangements are still being planned for Zachary Salmon.

The 21-year-old Army private died when he was hit by sniper fire in Afghanistan last Wednesday.

Fitch Denney Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg said they were meeting with Salmon’s family Monday afternoon and should have arrangements prepared by Tuesday.

Salmon grew up in Harrison and has family in the tri-state. He will be buried at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora.

Family and friends will hold a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening at 7:00 at the home of Salmon’s mother, Renee Cross, in Hebron, Ky. People attending are asked to bring their own candles.

Salmon is survived by a three-year-old son, Noah, who lives with his mother and Salmon’s former girlfriends in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
