(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – It was a battle of fire and ice for firefighters this morning in Lawrenceburg.

A vacant building that had formerly been the home of Jones Flooring on the 500 block of Eads Parkway-U.S. 50, near Nugent Tractor, caught fire around 1:00 a.m.

The roof of the building reportedly collapsed.

One firefighter was injured when they slipped and fell on some ice. That firefighter’s current condition is not known.

Firefighters are still on the scene as of 6:30 a.m.

Motorists passing by the scene say water from the fire hoses has run onto Eads Parkway and frozen.

The Lawrenceburg Fire Department is leading the investigation into the fire and could release more information later today.
